Materials laboratory for optofluidics, micro-optics and holography

  • Materials laboratory for optofluidics, micro-optics and holography

Summary:

Materials developed in the laboratory are used with visible and or infrared light (10.6 microns wavelength). These materials can be used in the fabrication of holograms, lenses, or arrays of them, and prisms with sizes from about 50 microns to several millimeters. We also fabricate pressure sensors and refractometers based on optofluidic devices.

Equipment:

Optical microscope, surface analyzer, Atomic Force Microscope, Abbe refractometer. Mechanical positioning equipment. Optical components like: Lenses and mirrors (for visible and mid-infrared radiation), polarizers, diffraction gratings, etc. Light sources like: He-Ne, CO2 and Argon lasers. Power meters for visible and mid-infrared radiation. Digital cameras. IR camera.
