Summary:

In this laboratory, devices based on optical fiber long period grattings mechanical, electric arc and recorded by mechanical deformation are developed. Tunable lasers double coated optical fiber, particularly doped with rare earth ions such Erbium-Ytterbium and ytterboum are also developed. Another line of research involves reformatting and combining multimode diode laser bars for pumpin dual coating fiber lasers. In addition, we own a glass processing station where special splices (doublé coated fibers and microstructured fibers), tapers and fiber combiners are made.

Equipment:

Glass processing station (vytran), 40W and 60W diode bar laser, power meter, optic spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope, autocorrelator, photodetectors, fiber Bragg interrogator, fiber optic distributed strain and temperature sensor.
