Student and Postdoctoral position at the Optical Sciences Center, University of Arizona, Tucson, Arizona, USA: 1996-1997 and 2001-2002 respectively. Current research area: Plastic opto-electronics: Linear and nonlinear optical properties of organic and inorganic materials for photonic devices: Organic solar cells (OPVs) and OLEDs, and spectroscopy in the Group of Optical Properties of Materials (Materials and Spectroscopy Labs: GPOM), CIO. Dr. Maldonado has taught over 75 courses at UNAM, U. Iberoamericana, and CIO-IFUG (University of Guanajuato) (undergraduate and graduate studies). He has been advisor of several undergraduate and graduate students as well as of six postdoctoral positions. Award: Gustavo Baz Prada 1993, UNAM: First Place (Assistance to Scientific Research). Dr. Maldonado is a member of the SMF (Mexican Physical Society), SQM (Mexican Chemical Society), AMO (Mexican Optical Society), OSA (Optical Society of America) and SNI (Mexican System of Researchers). Over 89 peer-reviewed scientific papers (metrics: 2010 scientific citations, h-index = 22). Granted projects (organic electronics and solar cells) for over 1, 500, 000 USD.
