Estudió la Licenciatura en Ingeniería Mecánica Agrícola en la UACh, la Maestría en Ingeniería de la Energía-Fuentes Renovables y el Doctorado en Ingeniería de la Energía-Solar Fototérmica, por la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Realizó estancia Posdoctoral en el Solar Energy Laboratory at the University of Minnesota, EUA. Se incorporó al Centro de Investigaciones en Óptica en Septiembre del 2014.
