Ramón Rodríguez-Vera received his Bachelor in Sciences degree in physical-mathematics from Michoacan University in 1982, his Master in Sciences from the University of Guanajuato in 1986, and in 1993 he obtained his PhD degree from the Loughborough University of Technology, England. Actually he is Research Director and professor in the postgraduate programs of the Centro de Investigaciones en Optica, A.C., Mexico. His research areas include optical metrology by means of the use of methods as holographic interferometry, speckle and moiré techniques. Likewise, he has come making research work in digital image analysis of fringe patterns, and computer vision. Dr. Rodríguez-Vera has directed several theses in Bachelor, Master, and PhD levels. He has published more than seventy research paper in magazines of international circulation and has presented more than a hundred works in national and international congresses, some of these as an invited presenter. He is member of the National Research System (SNI) and of the following scientific societies: OSA, SPIE, EOS, SEM, Mexican Society of Physics and Mexican Academy of Optics.
