Personal information:

Dr. J A Guerrero was born on march 6, 1971, in Jalpa, Zacatecas, México. He is a graduate of the Autonomus University of Zacatecas where he earned his Bachelor degree in Electronics and Communication Engineer in 1997. He received his PhD in 2003, at Optics Research Center and University of Guanajuato. In 2003, he was invited for a one year postdoctoral research position at NASA Langley Research Center, VA, USA, through Old Dominion University, where he was working in fiber optic system to measure flow velocity in velocimetry instrumentation applications. At present, Dr. Guerrero is part of the GSOM (Microdevises and Optic Sensors Group), where he is working in Microdevises development with fiber optic technology, laser micromachining and fluidics and microfluidic systems.

Research interests:

Digital Microfluidics: Study, design, and fabrication of Microdevises for manipulation of single fluid droplets for biology, chemistry and fluidics applications Fiber Optic sensors: Study, design, and fabrication of new sensors using the background of fiber optic configuration systems. Microdevises: Study, design and devise fabrication to sense temperature, pressure, pollution, etc. Laser micromachining: Microdevises fabrication and laser ablation in glass, fiber optics and other kind of materials to achieve optic sensors and optical Microdevises.

Academia:

Since 2003, Dr. Guerrero has been teaching Optic Instrumentation, Industrial Robotics, Electronics, Optics lab, Velocimetry, Math and physics for Bs., MsD, and PhD students.
