Mission:

" Centro de Investigaciones en Optica A.C.", is a public research center devoted to basic and applied research, to the generation of top level human resources in the field of Optics, and to the fostering of scientific culture within society.

Vision:

To be a research center of excellence, with national leadership and growing international recognition in the field of Optics, occupying a core position in the development of science and technology in Mexico.

Strategic Goals

They are the first institutional instance that guides and gives sense to all and each one of the substantive and support activities of the Center, as well as to all the everyday tasks that are carried out by all and each one of its collaborators.

In this sense, the strategic goals of CIO are:

1. To contribute to international scientific knowledge through theoretical and experimental research in Optics and related fields.

2. To strengthen the country's scientific and technological human resources at the international level, through specialization and graduate programs.

3. To contribute to the country's technological growth through the development and/or transfer of technology.

4. To contribute to the development of a scientific culture in Mexican society through the spreading of universal scientific knowledge.

Key Strategies

In order to achieve its goal, the staff at CIO shall:

1. Promote actions aimed at getting funds from different sources to financially support their activities.

2. Maintain a high academic level that will be evident in the success and recognition of our institution. Training and motivation shall always be pursued, and administration shall be transparent, efficient and service oriented, functioning within clear guidelines from the authorities. Equality, respect for people and their work, as well as creative capabilities and the responsible exercise of freedom, are values to be continually recognized and promoted.

3. Maintain a functional, modern and appropriate infrastructure for the achievement of quality.
