ABSTRACT
In the present talk we review the most important optical properties of thematter at the nanoscale size . In particular we discuss the role of the
metal nanoparticles in new optical applications. It is shown that surface
plasmon of a nanoparticle can be controlled by the Size and shape of the
particle allowing the tailoring of the optical properties. In addition medical applications of nanoparticles using its optical properties will be
described.
